Biorenewables Development Centre is a subsidiary company of the University of York focusing on research and development in the biorenewables industry. Though they are based in York, BDC’s network of partners means they can connect clients locally, nationally and internationally!
The team at Biorenewables reached out to us in 2022 following their recent rebranding. They wanted to revitalise their website to reflect the organisation’s new direction, as their existing website wasn’t fit for purpose for both their online audience and BDC themselves. They needed their website to be more intuitive to navigate, to better exhibit their facility’s capabilities and to demonstrate case studies of their technical services.
Their prior website’s content management system was not tailored to the specific needs of their team and offered functionalities that simply weren’t relevant to their use cases. With SeeGreen’s content management system, SeeCMS, we’re able to provide adaptable functionalities that are custom to their particular requirements.
After many discussions and tweaks later we in collaboration with Biorenewables decided the best route was to start from scratch and modernise the website and restructure the website to improve user experience and lead them towards the main goal of getting in touch.
From thorough collaborative discussions and iterative amends, it became clear that the old site needed significant restructuring to meet user’s needs. The site needed to simplify and encourage users’ to get in touch with the Biorenewables team. The best solution was to provide an entirely new, modernised website that kept user experience at the forefront of its development and allowed users to easily connect with the Biorenewables Development Centre.
The incremental, client involved development resulted in a website that understands both BDC and their user’s needs, and reflects BDC’s identity as a technologically innovative research company.
